Wiring started and road

Its been a quite week with Christmas coming half way through, so not much has been done this week.

One of my Xmas present was a new soldering iron (from Maplins) so I have a start on wiring up for the DCC bus.

I managed to wire all the built track. On Monday 30th I will test all the wiring.

I tried to construct the station approach using ready roll Tarmac sheet. It looked good until I tried to paint to road marking
They looked crap. Rip it up and start with another idea.... Make my own cardboard road....

Station - more work completed.

The end of the bay platform was completed together with the ramp.

Both ideas were constructed using the Metcalfe platform kits.

The extension plus ramp took about 1hr to complete, most was wanting for glue to set.

Progress on station

Canopy formers constructed and glued into place. Next the platform is to be done.

Second building done

The two building completed - now on to the canopy.

First part of the station

Whilst I have been off sick from work (with the d's) I have put the time to good use. I decided to put together my model island platform and building.

I have started with the first building with the ladies toilets in. The construct is very easy but unusually for me I'm reading the instructions (To the letter) I know - shock horror...

I have completed it but I have now run out of glue so it's off to the shops.

As you can see from picture it does look good.
